VITAMIN B COMPLEX
50 Ampoules x 2ml
COMPOSITION:
Vitamin B Complex contains in each ampoule of 2ml:
Vitamin B1 - 20mg ;
Vitamin B2 - 2mg ;
Vitamin B6 - 2mg ;
Nicotinamide - 30mg;
Sodium Pantothenate - 1mg.
INDICATION:
Treatment of Vitamin B deficiency, when oral therapy is not sufficient.
Under normal circumstances the following amounts (which are easily supplied with food) are required by adults per day:
- Thiamine (Vitamin B1) 1 - 1,5 mg
- Riboflavine (Vitamin B2) 1,1 - 1,7 mg
- Prrodoxine (Vitamin B6) 2 mg
- Nicotinamide 15 - 20 mg
- D - Panthenol 4 - 10 mg
CONTRAINDICATIONS
None.
USAGE IN PREGNANCY
Can be used, when really needed. The potential risk for the fetus and the mother caused by a severe allergic reaction has be taken into consideration.
USE DURING LACTATION
Can be used.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Adults: administer one ampoule daily per i.m or i.v injection.
Children: administer 1/2 ml ampoule daily per i.m or i.v injection.
Dosage should be replaced by peroral medication as soon as possible.
Deficiency of vitamin B1 with clinical signs of beriberi must be treated with higher doses: 5 - 10 mg Thiamine daily (in combination withother B - Vitamins) during the first week, followed by 3 - 5 mg daily for several weeks and a consecutive maintainance dose of 1 - 2 mg daily.
In adults with cardiovascular symptoms, and in breast-fed babies with "infantile beriberi" due to insufficientmaternal thiamine intake with food, treatment should start with parenteral administration.
Deficiency of necotinamide with clinical signs of pellagra must be treated with high dose: 300 mg Nicotinamide daily, ( in combination with other B - Vitamins) during the first week, foolowed by 50-100mg daily for several weeks.
Important: Parenteral administration of vitamin preparations carries a substantial risk of serve allergic reactions. It must therefore only be used when medication is not sufficient (e.g. beriberi with cardiovascular symptoms or impaired vitamin absorption).
drug INTERACTIONS
None of importance with the dosage recommended.
ADVERSE EFFECTS
Severe allergic reactions are not too rare.
Prolonged use may lead to increase severuty of a preexisting acne.
